Remember the last time you put out a CD? You recorded it late at night in that studio downtown, where the walls had holes in them, and the bathrooms were... well, let's not even go there. They made a decent mix, but overcharged you for the time. You then went down the road to get it premastered. It sounded better, but the guy at that place didn't know where you were coming from, and it didn't quite have that edgy quality you wanted. While all this was going on, your cousin's friend who worked for a design shop had offered to do the artwork. The girl had never even heard your music, and the artwork wound up looking cheesy, and totally unrelated to your project.
Then you sent your CD halfway across the country to get it replicated. You didn't hear back from them for 3 months, and when you called, they gave you the runaround about it being "on schedule". Finally, about a year after you finished recording the CD, 6 months after the "CD-release party", and a week after the band broke up, 1000 CD's arrive at your door, with half of the cases cracked during shipping.
